HELENA, Mont. — This week, leaders with the Montana Snowmobile Association (MSA) joined Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen at the State Capitol to celebrate the MSA’s 2025 legislative successes. Secretary Jacobsen held a ceremonial signing to file the legislation into Montana law.

“I love snowmobiling. The beautiful views, the family fun, and the fast engines – I love all of it,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “I’m very thankful for the tireless work given by generations of snowmobile club members in Montana. Thank you for your continued work as snowmobile clubs keep Montana, Montana.”

Senate Bill 310, sponsored by Senator Barry Usher (R-Billings), updates Montana’s trails and recreational facilities grant program, now known as the trail stewardship grant program. The program expands projects eligible for grant funds to improve trails for motorized vehicles like snowmobiles.

Senate Bill 165, also sponsored by Sen. Usher, improves Montana’s trail grooming and maintenance through a small trail enhancement rental fee. Funds will assist Montana’s local snowmobile clubs in maintaining trails and equipment to attract local riders and those from around the globe to the state’s world-class trail systems.

“Today, it is with great pride that I am joined by leaders from the Montana Snowmobile Association as we file into law and on the books legislation that will keep snowmobiling in Montana the best in the world,” said Secretary Jacobsen.
