HELENA, Mont. — The latest business registrations show Montanans continuing to invest in their communities and capitalize on the state’s strong, pro-growth economy. According to the Montana Business Economic Report, over 5,000 new business registrations were recorded in November.
“Every new business registration represents a Montanan with an idea and the courage to turn it into reality,” said Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen. “From main streets to home-based and online businesses, these new business registrations mean more local jobs, more services, and more opportunities for families in every corner of our state.”
Secretary Jacobsen’s ongoing work to streamline business registrations and reduce costs for business owners has made it simpler and more affordable to start a business in Montana. Online tools, modernized services, and reduced fees have supported steady increases in business registrations throughout 2025.
With November’s activity pushing year-to-date business registrations past 70,000, Montana has already surpassed the record of nearly 64,000 new business registrations set in 2024. The continued growth underscores the confidence entrepreneurs have in Montana’s economy and the support they receive from the Secretary of State’s Office.
