HELENA, Mont. — Leaders with the Montana Mining Association joined Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen at the Montana State Capitol this week to celebrate the organization’s priority legislation from the 2025 Montana Legislative Session. Secretary Jacobsen held a ceremonial filing of the bills into law.
“Montana mining is critical for American resolve. Montana mining electrified the nation in the past, and we are a key player in the tech and renewable future,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “It is great to stand with Montana miners today to set in stone key Montana Mining Association objectives for the future of mining in the Treasure State.”
In addition to the Mining Association’s key objectives, the Montana Legislature passed House Bill 203 earlier this year, establishing “Montana Mining Day” to honor the state’s rich mining heritage. The bill received near-unanimous, bipartisan support on its way to becoming law, designating February 9 as “Montana Mining Day.”
“Miners powered the electrical revolution. Today, America’s best and brightest are poised to represent America again as miners in the Treasure State,” said Secretary Jacobsen. ” As we celebrate the rich heritage of mining in Montana, we extend our gratitude to the miners who laid the foundation for Montana’s prosperity and the contributions that have created a global legacy of resilience and innovation.”
