HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen is celebrating a decisive court ruling that backs her work to protect the integrity of Montana’s elections after a court decision upheld Montana’s photo voter identification law, a clear win for every honest voter in the Treasure State.

“Montanans deserve elections that are safe, secure, and straight‑shooting,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “This decision is a victory for the integrity of our elections and for every citizen who plays by the rules.”

“Montana voters know their vote is part of their identity, it’s their voice,” Jacobsen added. “That’s why strong voter ID is just common sense, and it’s not a partisan idea, roughly eight in ten Americans support requiring a government‑issued photo ID to vote, and Montanans are right there with them. This ruling confirms what Montanans already believe: our elections must be clean, transparent, and accountable, and the Court agrees.”
