HELENA, Mont. — Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen announced Tuesday that sample ballots are now available to registered Montana voters across the Treasure State. Secretary Jacobsen says there are more than 800 different ballot styles (based on districts, precincts, etc.), and voters can view their specific sample ballot ahead of the November 3rd General Election.
The Montana Election Team, which consists of state and local election officials, completed ballot certification in August and immediately began the ballot-proofing process. As counties finalized their ballots, they began the process of uploading sample ballots to the state’s voter information site at https://voterportal.mt.gov.
“Election Day is only weeks away, and it’s never too early to prepare. Registered Montana voters can visit our website, confirm their voter registration information, find their polling place, and view their sample ballot in preparation for November 3rd,” said Secretary Jacobsen. “This is among the earliest that sample ballots have been available to Montana voters, and I’m grateful to the Montana Election Team for the dedication and efficiency in serving our voters.”
A sample ballot allows voters to review the races, candidates, and ballot issues that will appear on their official ballot. Registered voters can visit https://voterportal.mt.gov, enter their information, and select “Sample Ballot” from the blue “Menu” button. Voters can also find their polling place and confirm that their voter registration information–such as address–is up to date.
